Most hardware and softsynths aren't designed to accomodate such a feature, so unless you find middleware to keep it updated for you, you're unlikely to get much use out of it. The main advantage of the Behringers is that they have LED rings around each knob to indicate the current value/position of its controlled parameter.but it's not guaranteed to work properly. You can get a fader variant of the BCR-2000 (called the BCF) but it's motorized and thus pricier. Both the Launchpad XL and UC-33 include faders with the knobs for a lower price. ![]() Novation's Launchpad XL is another option, which has some macros for Ableton too. You can DIY overlays for the BCR but it's easier to just write on overlays provided for you.especially when you are first starting out and aren't sure where you want things. ![]() I did a lot of research on this subject and ultimately chose the Behringer BCR-2000 to use with Synthgraphics' overlays, and I also use it for controlling VST's, but unless you own an Alpha Juno or Tetr4, then I think the Evolution UC-33 is a better buy because it includes its own plastic overlays and a lot more space to write in your own labels for each knob.
